Who We Are
& What We Do
Ayada Leads is a non-profit organization that trains and empowers African Diaspora women.
Our Mission
Ayada Leads’ mission is to equip New Americans, particularly African Diaspora Women, to excel in leadership positions in their communities across the spectrum of societal influence.

Our Vision
A world where African diaspora women and girls are valued, safe, and fully equipped to pursue and achieve their academic, professional, and leadership aspirations.
Our Purpose

Ayada Leads views active political participation as a vital part of a representative democracy. We work to uplift the political and social power of Diaspora women and New Americans by ensuring their voices, values, and priorities are reflected in public policy and leadership.
Originally founded as the Women Organizing Women (WOW) Network, we rebranded to better align with who we are today.
“Ayada,” the Somali word for she, reflects our dedication to empowering Diaspora women—particularly Somali women—to lead, organize, and influence change in their communities.
We believe that those who are closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions, and that community-rooted leaders have the knowledge and drive to hold public office and shape a more just and inclusive future.
