At Ayada Leads, it is our mission to inspire women, and, specifically, African Diaspora women and New Americans, to participate meaningfully in political and civic life. Using a community-based approach, we provide resources for women in order to run for office and become engaged in civic matters. Political Campaign Training in Minneapolis MN

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we at Ayada Leads are currently unable to hold the in-person trainings, workshops, and events that we normally do in order to educate and support women who are looking to get involved in politics. That is why we have decided to offer a new kind of workshop and training that is completely online for women who are looking to learn more about running for public office. Our virtual trainings are meant to help provide women with the necessary knowledge and help them develop the skills in order to run for office, or to become leaders in their local communities.

At Ayada Leads, we firmly believe that women need to be at our government’s and our communities’ decision-making tables so that we can create a fairer, more equitable, and more representative democracy that works for everyone.

What To Know About Our Virtual Trainings:

Participants are not required to have any prior knowledge or experience in order to sign up for our virtual trainings and workshops. You can sign up for several different sessions or just one--the choice is yours. By taking part in our Inclusive Democracy trainings and workshops, we hope that participants become inspired and gain the skills and knowledge they need in order to become more politically active and engaged in our democracy.

All women are welcome to participate in these trainings and workshops.

Our First Online Workshop: “Exploring Roles”

Summary: The first step to running for local office is deciding which type of position you want to run for. State and local elections often get overlooked, but they have a major influence on the day-to-day lives of American citizens. Through state and local policy, you can have an impact on everything from health services to criminal justice to education and more with regards to your community, city, or state. Whereas federal policy and positions only offer broad proposals that are meant to impact the nation as a whole, but may have very little impact on local communities and issues. Therefore, focusing on local elections can result in faster and more effective solutions for major issues that directly affect you and your community.
